The Wickford Yacht Club has Officers and Committees which are appointed annually. Several of these positions comprise the Board of Govenors which
meets on a regular basis to make management decisions in the best interest of the WYC.
Standing Committees -
House Committee -
Responsible for all matters pertaining to the clubhouse , grounds, and supervision of WYC employees.
Finance Committee -
The WYC Vice Commodore chairs the Finance Committee. Prepare the annual budget for approval by the Board of Governors.
Race Committee -
This committee is chaired by the Rear Commodore and shall have jurisdiction over all club races.
Regatta Committee -
This committee is also chaired by the Rear Commodore and has jurisdiction over all open races and regattas.
Social Committee -
The social committee shall provide for and have charge of all entertainment and social functions for the membership of the club.
Membership Committee -
This committee receives and evaluates all written applications for membership, manages the process for becoming a member and submits recommendations concerning same to the Board of Governors.
Nominating Committee -
The Nominating Committee shall select and post for review nominees for Club officers and one member at large of Board of Governors.
Sailing Committee -
The Sailing Committee shall organize and conduct the junior and other sailing programs exclusive of races.
Building Committee -
The Building Committee shall submit a five-year master plan of capital improvements to the Board of Governors.
Board of Governors -
The Board of Governors shall consist of the Flag Officers, the Secretary, the Treasurer, the immediate past Commodore, the House Committee Chairperson, and one(1) member-at-large.
